Are there options for cabs at night when you want to head back to Taipei? Would it be faster? Hope you can advise. And do you know what time is the last train ride from Riufang to Taipei? And go back to taipei and take maybe the 2nd to the last bus ride to Riufang and train ride back to Taipei. Combining a trip to Jiufen and Shifen is a popular option among most travelers. The easiest way to access Jiufen and Shifen in a day is to join an organized tour.

There is no direct train or bus between Shifen and Jiufen. So follow this for the bus leaving from Ruifang to Jiufen. Otherwise, just cross the road and turn left, then continue straight for around meters, until you reach the bus station next to the police department as in image below.

There are a number of options for the return trip to Jiufen, but we opted for the direct bus this time, leaving from the main road passing Jiufen to Taipei. And this takes roughly one hour, with stops near the Metro lines once in Taipei city centre. Again stopping near to Ruifang Station.
