But there are dangerous cultural cues, too. Our competitive culture frequently sends the message that we need to be special and stand out, even encouraging us to knock down those who stand in our way.

When we are struggling with insecurity, we might be more vulnerable to feelings that activate this outdated survival mechanism.

For an inferiority complex, you have to compare yourself with others to make you become smaller. The next thing we can do is take a deep breath and a step back and ask ourselves what we might do to strengthen our sense of self and turn a corner where we can be both productive and peaceful without the pressure of wondering how everyone else is taking care of their business.
